Report on the work of the public organization “Dreptul de a fi” for 2017
January 2017 began according to tradition with the “Christmas Caravan”, during which 68 families from Balti municipality and the northern region of Moldova where children with disabilities are brought up were visited, An amount of about 50,000 lei (MDL) was spent. On January 4 the Salvation Army visited the public organization “Dreptul de a fi” and brought interesting gifts to 60 children.
On January 19 at the invitation of the “Oliva” pizzeria, 20 children participated in a friendly dinner, where various contests were held and gifts were presented by Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden. The cost of this event amounted to 5,000 lei (MDL). In February 2017 volunteers, together with children with disabilities, made crafts with their hands. These crafts were sold at the March fair in the center of Balti municipality. The fair lasted from 23.02 to 10.03. About 20 children with disabilities and volunteers were involved. The total cost of materials amounted to 3,400 lei (MDL).
On 08.03.2017 a celebration was held, timed to the World Women’s Day. There was a table with the sweets and small gifts for the female gender. In general, about 50 women were involved. The sum spent on this event amounted to 2 300 lei. On 17.04.2017 a common birthday party was organized for children with disabilities with the help of 10 volunteers from the Public Organization “Dreptul de a fi”. About 30 children were congratulated with their name-day. Such birthdays have been celebrated since 2015, and annually the expenses on such events amount to 1,200 lei (MDL).
On 07.05.2017 a charity event was carried out in order to raise the funds for the purchase of a building for a republican rehabilitation and adaptation center for children with disabilities. Various amateur art groups from Balti municipality took part in the event. About 500 people were involved, including 45 beneficiaries and volunteers of the organization.
On 22.05.2017 on the birthday of Balti municipality, 50 children and young people from PO “Dreptul de a fi” took part in the festive procession, after which they visited a pizzeria and children’s attractions. The amount spent on this event was 3,600 lei (MDL). We are very pleased that our young people take an active part in the life of the organization.
On 01.06.17 a 3-day outdoor recreation for children with disabilities was organized, with three meals a day, fun and entertainment. In total, 12,600 lei (MDL) were spent.
From 14 to 18 July 2017, a detour with humanitarian aid was carried out and a survey in partnership with media was conducted. 38 families from different regions of Moldova received humanitarian aid, essential goods, clothes, detergents, diapers, and so on. The sum spent during this detour amounted to 11,400 lei (MDL).
On 09.08.2017 a detour of families from Balti in which children with special needs are brought up was carried out together with an initiative group from Norway. The sum spent on this event amounted to 500 lei (MDL).
On 13.09.17 a meeting of the beneficiaries of the public organization “Dreptul de a fi”took place at the restaurant “NOROC”. Fun contests and games were played in a friendly atmosphere. A delicious lunch was served. The sum spent on this event amounted to 6,000 lei (MDL).
In September 2017, the leaders of PO “Dreptul de a fi” went to Norway, to its capital Oslo, for the unique and necessary devices for children with disabilities. The sum of this event was 20 000 lei (MDL).
On 01.10.17 the beneficiaries of PO “Dreptul de a fi” visited the Festival of Equestrian Sport, which was held in the equestrian club from Balti municipality. At this event, a fundraiser was organized, during which an auction was held, thanks to which 2 families in which children with disabilities were brought up received financial assistance. The expenses for this event amounted to 1,500 lei (MDL).
On 03.11.17 an excursion to Chisinau zoo and Andy’s Pizza was carried out for children with special needs. About 100 children were able to see exotic animals so closely for the first time. In general, the cost of the tour amounted to 15,000 lei (MDL).
Throughout November 2017 the theater group of PO “Dreptul de a fi” “Nezabudki” (“Forget-Me-Not”) was preparing the play “Sleep on Christmas Eve” in places of cultural recreation. In general, the sum of 700 lei (MDL) was spent.
Beginning with December 1, 2017, the project “A Smile for Christmas” started, during which 110 families in which non-transportable children with disabilities were brought up were successfully visited. The sum spent on this even amounted to 77,000 lei (MDL).
