Report on the work for 2018
Throughout 2018, PO “Dreptul de a fi” carried out a number of organizational, cultural, recreational and entertainment events, as well as additional programs aimed at helping to improve the moral and psychological state of people with disabilities (various categories) of all ages, as follows:
1. On January 8, 2018, the public organization “Dreptul de a fi” held a friendly meeting between the children from “Salvation Army” Church and our children’s theater group called Malvinki. Our children’s theater group “Malvinki” once again showed their artistry and talent, playing a performance “A Christmas Night Dream” for children from the “Salvation Army” Church. “Salvation Army” Church wished all the children happy Christmas holidays and offered them valuable gifts.
2. From January 1 to February 28, 2018, the public organization “Dreptul de a fi” carried out the annual campaign “A Smile at Christmas”. The essence of the action is to bring joy and Christmas mood to the houses where children with disabilities live, and these are special children who do not have the physical ability to leave the houses where they live. The campaign was carried out with the support of volunteers from the public organization “Dreptul de a fi”, economic agents and the “Salvation Army” Church. We would like to note separately that the Bahan family joined our campaign. This family, with their cheerful and lively performance – playing the accordion in national costumes, shared the warmth of their souls with children and their parents. During these two months, our organization visited 67 families and brought them food, bed linen, personal care products, diapers, etc., and also gifts and sweets.
3. From January 1 to April 30, 2018 a support in the form of payment for public services for 4 consecutive months, was provided to 10 low-income families, which bring up two or more children with special needs. Also firewood and coal were purchased for the low-income families living in houses on the ground. This support was provided by “Livets Rett” initiative group from Norway.
4. On February 6, 2018 PO “Dreptul de a fi” took part in a creative project “Storytime Theatre”, organized by the Russian community from Balti. The aim of the project was to introduce contemporary children to the culture of other nations, their customs, worldview, musical and cultural heritage on the example of fairy tales, as the most vivid artistic manifestation of identity of different nations from the entire world. After all, from early childhood the most favorite game of every child, – is a fairy tale game. Educational institutions from Balti municipality took part in the project. One of the participants in this project was our theater troupe “Malvinki”, the children, presented the fairy tale “A Christmas Night Dream”.
5. On March 30, 2018, the public organization “Dreptul de a fi” took part in “Catherine’s Ball” for the first time, the event organized by the Russian community from Balti. At this event, the results of the creative project “Storytime Theatre” were summed up. The event was held in the restaurant “President”. Children’s theater group “Malvinki” (40 children) was pleasantly surprised by dances and gifts from the organizers of this event.
6. On May 6, 2018, the public organization “Dreptul de a fi” organized a charity concert in Chisinau on the stage in front of the central department store. The concert was attended by children with disabilities and dance groups from Moldova. The funds raised were directed to repair wheelchairs. From the money collected we managed to repair five wheelchairs and distributed them among persons with disabilities who needed them urgently.
7. On June 1, 2018, on the International Children’s Day, the public organization “Dreptul de a fi” and volunteers organized a hiking trip to Taul village, Donduseni sidtrict, for 40 children with disabilities from Balti and other parts of the country.
The children’s recreation program was opened by visiting the amusement park in Donduseni, where the children rode the merry-go-round, were treated with ice cream, cotton candy and sweet water for free. Such a surprise was arranged for the children by the authorities of this town. In Taul village, special guests from Balti were allowed to camp in the local park. For all children it was a real adventure: they slept in the forest in large military tents, in real sleeping bags, spent the evening sitting by the fire, ate food cooked on the fire … During the campaign, adults organized a concert for children, games, competitions with prizes, guided tours and hikes. The participants also visited the local zoo. At the end of the trip, each child received a box with gifts.
8. On June 16, 2018 PO “Dreptul de a fi” carried out a charity concert on the central square of Balti with the aim to raise funds for the needs of the organization whose beneficiaries are families raising children with disabilities. The charity concert was attended by children’s vocal and dance groups from municipal cultural institutions: “Do-Re-Mi”, “Tineretea”, “Vîntulet” and many others. The funds raised during the concert were directed to the procurement of premises where it is planned to open a Republican rehabilitation center for children with disabilities not only from Balti, but also from other parts of the country.
9. On December 1, 2018, the public organization “Dreptul de a fi” and people of goodwill offered assistance in purchasing firewood and coal for three neediest families.
10. On December 25, 2018, the public organization “Dreptul de a fi” organized a free New Year concert at “Oscar” restaurant and distributed gifts for children with disabilities. And those children, who could not come to the holiday for various reasons, were visited personally by Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden and received gifts from them. Non-Governmental Public Organization “ALIM” (England) also contributed to our event. They sang songs and danced with our children and gave them valuable gifts. I would also like to note that the soloists of the vocal studio “Do-Re-Mi” offered our children joy with their songs.
11. Every year, quarterly, PO “Dreptul de a fi” does not forget and organizes the birthday party for each child from our organization – congratulates and gives them pleasant gifts and tasty sweets.
12. Our organization has got regular sponsors, but we call them “true friends.” We are grateful to “Perla” Wedding Salon – throughout 2018 they provided our beneficiaries (60 people) with food, sweets, hygiene products, detergents, and diapers. For the New Year holidays, each of our girls was offered an elegant dress. How much delight and emotion our girls had when they turned into little princesses! All that thanks to our true friends.
We would like to mention and thank the volunteers of the Public Organization “Dreptul de a fi”, who constantly carry out mass work visiting children and adults with disabilities at home. The activity of the association is based on voluntary donations from people of goodwill, many thanks to them and a low bow.
Through 2018 the chairman of the PO “Dreptul de a fi” Natalia Protiuc passed professional training, during which she attended the following courses and seminars.
1) June 12-13, 2018 Balti: Subject: “Innovative social services for children from vulnerable groups and people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities”. Courses were organized with the support of Soros-Moldova, APSCF, ”Servicii Sociale mai bune”.
2) July 24, 2018 Riscani: Seminar “Social Entrepreneurship Development”. The seminar was organized with the support of USAID, ECO-RAZENI, “MOTIVAȚIE” Association, Moldova AID. The main topics of the event were:
– Organizational issues on the rehabilitation of children: legislation, documentation, social monitoring;
– Social support for children and adolescents with disabilities, individual rehabilitation programs;
– Some methods of rehabilitation: creative rehabilitation, ergotherapy, distant work with children with disabilities;
– Organization of assistance service for people with disabilities;
– Social partnership and volunteer organizations.
– Practical aspects regarding organization of social work with families raising children and adults with disabilities were considered.
3) Members of the PO “Dreptul de a fi” took part in the seminar on the topic: “The social rights of people with disabilities. Various forms of subsidies, compensation and assistance, as well as the ability to use them competently. ”
Key objective of the seminar:
– familiarize people with disabilities with their social rights.
– teach people to interpret correctly existing laws and to be able to use them in a timely and competent manner.
– teach people to fill in documents, to write an application.
– enable people with disabilities to feel protected by their state, and to have hope and confidence in the future.
– foster in people with disabilities the awareness that “Everyone makes his own luck”.
– increase the level of social protection of people with disabilities.
– increase the level of civic engagement and legal literacy of people with disabilities.
