At a press-conference Natalya Protiuc, the head of the organization “Dreptul de a fi” told about a new project, reports tvBalti.md. For many years the organization has been engaged in social adaptation and rehabilitation of people with disabilities. Thanks to the support of the Soros Foundation in Moldova, it was possible to receive a grant in the amount of 50 thousand Euro for the implementation of a project which aim is the social adaptation of persons receiving treatment in Balti psycho-neurological dispensary.
As Natalia Protiuc reported, “the idea of the project, in simple terms, is to show these people the light and integrate them into society. In turn, to show the society that the participants, beneficiaries of our project are the same people as all of us.
Basically, we will try to teach 12 participants of our project –to live a normal daily life. Life in their own house, which will be purchased by the psycho-neurological institution. Thanks to the project we will be able to equip apartments of the future tenants. In addition, one of our objectives is to teach them to manage their own finances”, says project leader Natalia Protiuc.
The project assistant is Costas Natalia, who spoke about the details of the project called “Viata in comunitatea pentru toti / Life in society for everyone”. The project participants – 15 employees of the psycho-neurological dispensary, as well as four key managers, including a psychologist and an accountant. The activities planned to be implemented within the project include seminars and trainings for the project beneficiaries. The objective of the trainings is social adaption and learning basic things in the own apartment, such as cleaning and cooking. Duration of the project is 1,5 year.
